Plants are one of our favourite home staging go-to’s here at Right At Home Staging as they have this effortless ability to enhance and breathe life to any interior or exterior space.

We love them, but for the longevity of a marketing campaign, bringing real plants into the home will also bring along the added upkeep of them. With added expenses owing to have to replace them when they die, real plants can become a mini haven for mould and bugs.

So to answer our blog title?

We are all for fake flowers and plants.

And here are some options to consider when you incorporate artificial plants to your home:

Flowers

Flowers in vases are a very easy way to bring colour and brightness into a room.

Use flowers that have the colours that match your internal decor to echo the feel of the room.

Use smaller flowers in smaller vases in the bathroom and on bookshelves, and then go for bigger vases with taller stemmed flowers for dining tables and coffee tables.

Don’t forget to dust your fake flowers regularly so people won’t be able to tell that they’re fake! No one wants dusty, spider-webby fake flowers!

Artificial plants

Having greenery in your space will help to give it a more calming, natural feel.

Choosing the right false plants is important as the cheaper options can sometimes look very obviously fake. Our tip? Opt for ones with more muted leaves that look more realistic.

Scent

The one thing you’re missing when you go for false flowers and greenery is the scent. But fear not, because this is relatively easy to emulate - simply light a candle in a fresh scent to get the smells going. An essential oil diffuser or reed diffuser are also great options.

Be selective with scents however, and make sure you refer to our blog about scents here.

When staging your home for prospective buyers, it is essential that you breathe some life and colour into your decor to take your property from house to home.

Small touches such as fake plants and flowers can make a huge difference and are not a step to be ignored. Try out some small vases and build from there - fake flowers are attainable, affordable and last forever.

We recommend The Hub Home Trader. They are supplied by only the best - Rogue and Florabelle - and leave you with the fake flowers you need to brighten up your space.
